Much like the overall financial services industry, regional banks continue to be under heightened compliance and security pressures. Regional banks have many of the stringent compliance and audit requirements from regulators similar to the ones that face larger institutions. However, unlike larger financial entities, regional banks have smaller IT resources to manage compliance programs. This makes the task of ensuring adequate compliance harder.

Today, more than ever, regional banks need to ensure the privacy of sensitive information stored in their databases. Data theft, particularly from large data stores continues to escalate. Federal, state and other regulations mandate strong privacy and auditing controls, and increasingly contain stiff penalties for non-compliance. Hindering the implementation of appropriate measures is the challenging economic environment. In summary, it is critical to understand how to audit and protect databases in as cost-effective a manner as possible.

Helping us sort through these challenges and focus our thinking will be industry expert Robert Woods. Robert currently serves as Vice President/Security Architect supporting information security, privacy, and governance efforts for The South Financial Group.

Prat Moghe, Founder & General Manager of Tizor Systems, will guide the round-table panel discussion. More extensive bios for each participant can be found below. The audience is encouraged to post questions before hand or during the web cast.
